Laying the foundation for total health

In some ways, one could say that chiropractic care is a bit like building a house - certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work together correctly. Chiropractic care addresses many common reasons why people experience pain and other health issues. If something is not right with your body's foundation, than that needs to be addressed before true health can be achieved. With chiropractic care, your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic care . . .

Phase 1: Relief Care

If you are in pain when you come into our Parker chiropractic office, our first objective is to help you reduce pain and start feeling better as soon as possible. With more severe conditions such as auto accident injuries or chronic pain that's been around for a long time, it may require a patient to need chiropractic adjustments 2-3 times per week for 2-4 weeks to achieve significant relief of the symptoms.

Phase 2: Corrective/Restorative Care

During the corrective phase of chiropractic care, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, which helps prevent further injury or pain. The goal of corrective or restorative chiropractic care is to help bring your body back to functioning at it's best. It is typical to need chiropractic adjustments 1-2 times per week and the time frame can vary from 4- 6 weeks, or longer depending on the severity of the condition, your body's ability to heal, occupational factors and your willingness to follow the advice and schedule the doctor recommends to you.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

Once your body has reached your optimal level of health, it is important to come in for periodic chiropractic adjustments to help ensure you're consistently at your best and to help minimize problems in the future. Regular wellness care also reduces the chances of illness, and the severity of an injury should an accident occur. Usually, this phase of chiropractic care only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor 1-2 times per month, based on your lifestyle and goals.  Most folks realize the importance of twice a year dental checkups, which are important, but dentists can install new teeth if needed, but at this point getting a new spine or replacing a vertebra isn't a viable option, so maybe our spines deserve more attention than our teeth!
